Entering the 2025 FPA Awards

We look forward to receiving your entry. All entrants to the Product Innovation Awards will also be invited to exhibit at the Award Exhibition during the afternoon of the Awards.
Rules of entry and categories
FPA Award entry is exclusive to FPA members companies.
To submit your entry, select the Award your company would like to enter from the list below, review the entry criteria, then complete and submit the associated entry form via the link provided.

Manufacturing members will be asked to vote for their top three regional distributors.
The voting criteria will be based upon:
- Their business performance
- Their governance, behaving ethically in everything they do
- Investing in their business and their teams
- Demonstrating they listen to their customers by the questions they ask you
- Maintaining strong dialogue with you with regard to opportunities and issues
- Team and customer training
- Promoting your products to their customers including well presented catalogues and online
- Standing head and shoulders above other regional distributors with regards to their day to day operation
Manufacturing members will be asked to vote for their top three national distibutors.
The voting criteria will be based upon:
- Their business performance
- Their governance, behaving ethically in everything they do
- Investment in their business and their teams
- Their logistics ensuring they understand their customers' requirements, supplying them efficiently and in time
- Commitment and respect for their suppliers and maintaining dialogue with them
- Their environmental based programmes and willingness to engage with others in seeking improvements including lobbying on key issues
- Working with you to develop new solutions to address environmental and legislative changes
- Their market intelligence
- Identifying new on the go food and drink opportunities
- Promoting your products to their customers
- Their CSR activities
- Their marketing and communications including their website
- Standing head and shoulders above other regional distributors with regards to their day to day operation
FPA members are invited to enter packaging and foodservice related products used front of house and introduced to the market in the 18 months prior to 1 March 2025.
ENTRIES SHOULD DEMONSTRATE INNOVATION INAT LEAST ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:
- The use of materials
- Reductions in waste and resource
- Ability to collect and achieve recycling/composting
- Ease of use by the trade
- Safety and hygiene and meeting regulations
- Reducing food waste
- Enabling new food and drink offerings to be placed on the market
- Maintaining product quality if not consumed immediately or transported
- Reflecting new distribution channels
- Meeting the needs of specific targets and/or occasions and events
- Reducing litter
- Improving customer experience and enjoyment
- Style, branding and design (including promotions)
- The judges, all independent of the FPA, will meet to assess your entries. You are welcome to enter multiple products provided each is on a separate entry form and separate fee, is produced by a FPA member company and first marketed within the UK during the 18 months to 1 March 2025.
The deadline for entry to this Award is 17 January 2025.

Entries must be based on programmes that have the objectives of reducing waste and / or achieving environmental improvements and / or resources efficiency. The Award does not include actual products which should be entered into the Product Innovation Award. However the development of a culture including practices that foster product development with the aim of achieving the objectives above are included. Areas may include (but by no means limited to materials, energy, water, emissions, recycling, research and logistics. The scale of the initiative is not a judging consideration.
Corporate and social responsibility activities should be entered into the FPA CSR award.

This is awarded to the foodservice retailer considered by FPA members to have been outstanding in their usage of packaging and relationships with their packaging suppliers over the last 12 months. Members will be asked to vote.

The FPA Caterer Operator Award is presented to the caterer considered by FPA members to have been outstanding in their usage of packaging and relationships with their packaging suppliers over the last 12 months. Members will be asked to vote

The FPA Manufacturer Award is decided on the votes of the FPA’s Distributor members and customers.
Members will be asked to vote based on the following:
- The provision of high quality day to day service provided to you and your team including the ease of doing business, treating you as a valued customer, stock availability, reliability of delivery and order fulfilment
- Responsiveness to environmental and legislative developments including their willingness to provide you with information you can pass on to your customers
- The introduction of new products and products in advance of environmental and legislative changes and spotting and reacting to new food and drink trends
- Working with you to develop new solutions in response to your customers' developments including the speedy provision of samples
- Their governance and social responsibility activities and acting ethically in all their dealings
Standing out from other manufacturers in everything they do.
- ENVIRONMENT: Playing a full part in the development of packaging to achieve a circular economy for packaging including the development of schemes to encourage public participation
- GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS: lobbying government and working with the packaging sector to influencing legislation and policy concerning packaging
- COLLABORATION: Working with FPA Member distributors and manufacturers to produce innovative foodservice packaging
- RECOGNITION OF THE ROLE OF FOODSERVICE PACKAGING as a key part of their operations
- INNOVATION: Developing new food and drink offerings requiring packaging to serve them
- MARKETING: Use of packaging within their advertising and promotions
EXCELLENCE: the desire for highest quality in the food and drink they serve and the packaging used to serve it
- Please apply your knowledge, observations, insight and experience of the market as a whole.
This award will be judged by an independent panel.
FPA Design Team Award recognises in-house packaging and product designers and their creativity and inventiveness in providing solutions to meet your customers’ needs.
Judged by an independent panel, judges will be looking for imagination and the ability to create designs that bring something different to the market. Design can include the style and look of existing packs such as graphics and/or creating new packaging and product solutions to reflect new foodservice needs such as new food concepts and changes in environmental legislation.
The independent judges will be seeking some or all of the following:
- How team members address aspects such as environment and legislation into their thinking
- Graphics, style, and branding
- Ability to give packs and products uniqueness
- Having a feel for how their packs and products will be used by the public and understanding their changing needs and enhancing their foodservice experience
- Demonstrating their awareness of resource efficiency and circularity
- Creating technical advantages & functional improvements
- Using design to achieve savings in outer packaging and shipping materials and to make savings in shipping charges
- Developing new shapes so filling equipment can work more quickly
- Making use of AI
- Their ability to add value
Deadline for entries is 17 January 2025.
The FPA Marketing Campaign Award recognises excellence in marketing and promotion by FPA member companies. Campaigns can include advertising, social media, video, exhibitions, posters, merchandise, websites, email promotions, and print including brochures.
Judged by an independent panel, judges will be looking for creativity, impact and effectiveness in producing results measured against objectives and budget. Overall spend is not a key factor and small, well targeted campaigns are as equally welcome as those backed by big budgets.
Deadline for entries is 17 January 2025.
The FPA Company of the Year Award is a new Award for 2025.
