Entering the 2024 FPA Awards

It's the foodservice packaging event of the year ...

If your company is an FPA member and you fancy your chances at scooping one of our coveted FPA Awards, take a look through the categories below and review the associated entry criteria.

We look forward to receiving your entry. All entrants to Awards judged by the independent panel of judges will also be invited to exhibit at the Award Exhibition during the afternoon of the Awards.

Rules of entry and categories

FPA Award entry is exclusive to FPA members companies. 

To submit your entry, select the Award your company would like to enter from the list below, review the entry criteria, then complete and submit the associated entry form via the link provided.

Regional Distributor

The Regional Distributor Award is sponsored by amipak.

Open to FPA Regional Distributor members.  We will ask our manufacturer members to rate those distributors with whom they supply or have supplied on five key aspects of service provision and provide comments. We will also hold brief telephone interviews with three customers from information provided by you. Following the awards, you will receive a confidential anonymised report of their feedback. 

Entry is free and all information received will be only seen by FPA administration and will be treated in total confidence by us. All you need to enter is click below and give details of three of your customers.

National Distributor

The National Distributor Award is sponsored by KP.

Open to FPA National Distributor members.  We will ask our manufacturer members to rate those distributors with whom they supply or have supplied on five key aspects of service provision and provide comments. We will also hold brief telephone interviews with three customers from information provided by you. Following the awards, you will receive a confidential anonymised report of their feedback.

Product Innovation FOH

The Product Innovation Award (Front of House) is sponsored by Bidfood.

FPA members are invited to enter packaging and foodservice related products used front of house and introduced to the market in the 18 months prior to 1 March 2024.

The Product Innovation Award (Back of House) is sponsored by Bidfood.

FPA members are invited to enter packaging and foodservice related products used back of house and introduced to the market in the 18 months prior to 1 March 2024

Sustainability

The FPA Sustainability Award sponsored by Northwood recognises the huge amount of resource FPA members invest in reducing the environmental impact of their activities and in contributing positively to the environment.Included in this category are schemes that reduce your carbon impact, improvements in the use of resources including materials, ingredients, energy and water, adapting logistics to reduce the energy/carbon required for each pack delivered, reducing waste, organising collection schemes for used packaging, ensuring your packaging once is used is reprocessed and making back office organisation more resource efficient.

The scale of initiatives is not a judging consideration. Judges will be looking for well thought out, targeted and planned policies which have a strong benefit, achieved your objectives, and will continue to do so in the longer-term and have been embedded into the culture of your business. Entries may reflect a single action or a whole campaign.

Inevitably submissions will reference packs and products but should focus on aspects such as improvements  in resources to produce and distribute them and not the benefits and features of the packs and products themselves. They should be entered into the FPA Product Innovation Award

Corporate and social responsibility activities should be entered into the FPA CSR award.

CSR

The FPA Corporate & Social Responsibility Award, sponsored by Sabert, recognises the impact FPA members make on society whether it be their local community, the wider society and economy or their employees’ well-being and self-esteem.Our panel of judges are seeking effective CSR programmes that contribute positively to all stakeholders as well as adding reputational value for the organisation itself,  driving up the ethics which drive your businesses’ activities and operation and being accountable to your stakeholdersIncluded in CSR activities are investments in employee development and well-being, encouraging diversity, partnerships with other organisations, voluntary work in the local and wider community, charity activities, caring for those in need, involvement in schemes to improve your local environment such as river clean ups, playing a part in raising the ethical values of the markets in which you operate.Environmental activities that relate to production, material use, disposal and logistics of the packaging and products you market do not form part of this award and are to be submitted to the FPA Sustainability Award.

Foodservice Retail Operator

The Foodservice Retail Operator  Award is sponsored by ProAmpac.

It is awarded to the foodservice retailer considered by FPA members to have been outstanding in their usage of packaging and relationships with their packaging suppliers over the last 12 months. Members will be asked to vote.

Caterer Operator

The Catering Operator Award is sponsored by Faerch.

The FPA Caterer Operator Award is presented to the caterer considered by FPA members to have been outstanding in their usage of packaging and relationships with their packaging suppliers over the last 12 months. Members will be asked to vote

Manufacturer

The Manufacturer Award is sponsored by Bunzl Catering supplies.

This is open to all FPA manufacturer members and will be judged by a panel of FPA Distributor members. The invited panel,  made up of members who trade or have traded with the entrant,  will assess those entrants on five key aspects of their business relationship. They will also be invited to add comments. Following this stage we will hold brief telephone interviews with three customers. Following the awards, we will provide you with a confidential anonymised report of their feedback.

Food & Drink Manufacturer

The Food & Drink Manufacturer Award is sponsored by Coveris.

This award will be judged by an independent panel.

 

 

Design Team

The Design Team Award is sponsored by Go-pak.

FPA Design Team Award recognises in-house packaging and product designers and their creativity and inventiveness in providing solutions to meet your customers’ needs.Judged by an independent panel, judges will be looking for imagination and the ability to create designs that bring something different to the market. Design can include the style and look of existing packs such as graphics and/or creating new packaging and product solutions to reflect new foodservice needs such as new food concepts and changes in environmental legislation.

Deadline for entries is 12 February 2024

Marketing Campaign

The Marketing Campaign Award is sponsored by Cromwell.

The FPA Marketing Campaign Award recognises excellence in marketing and promotion by FPA member companies. Campaigns can include advertising, social media, video, exhibitions, posters, merchandise, websites, email promotions, and print including brochures.

Judged by an independent panel, judges will be looking for creativity, impact and effectiveness in producing results measured against objectives and budget. Overall spend is not a key factor and small, well targeted campaigns are as equally welcome as those backed by big budgets. 

Deadline for entries is 12 February 2024
